HPE MAINTENANCE · MULTI-LINE TPM

HPE Maintenance — all product lines from a single source

We service the complete HPE product range vendor-independently: ProLiant servers, the full HPE storage portfolio (3PAR, Primera, Alletra, Nimble, MSA, StoreOnce) and Aruba networking. Also after HPE Foundation Care expiration. 30 to 60 percent below OEM list. Typical TPM topics at the compute layer: BMC/iLO/iDRAC firmware updates without OEM login (lockout risk after contract end), DIMM failures as the most frequent server defect, and BIOS CPU microcode patches for Spectre/Meltdown-class vulnerabilities.

HPE Foundation Care / Proactive Care vs. TechCare TPM

How does TPM compare to the OEM contract?

You save 37–55% per yearHPE Foundation Care / Proactive Care vs. TechCare TPM · example calculation
Foundation Care / Proactive Care

TechCare TPM
950–1.000 €/Jahr

Example ProLiant DL380 Gen10 with 4-year Foundation Care: EUR 1,500–2,200/year OEM, EUR 950–1,000/year with TechCare TPM.

  • EOSL hardware: On EOSL models (ProLiant Gen8/Gen9, BladeSystem c7000, 3PAR StoreServ 7000) 50–70 % savings vs. Foundation Care — HPE EOSL extensions limited.
  • Multi-year contract: 3-year TPM contract: additional 5–10 % discount, 5-year contract: 10–15 %. Plus fixed-price lock against OEM list-price increases.
Stays with HPE
  • HPE OneView / iLO Advanced subscription
  • HPE Aruba Central / GreenLake cloud subscriptions
  • HPE software TAC and firmware login releases
Moves to TechCare
  • Hardware defects (memory, disk, PSU, mainboard, modules)

Why HPE maintenance via TechCare instead of HPE Foundation Care / Pointnext

HPE covers almost every data center domain: ProLiant servers, a broad storage portfolio (3PAR, Primera, Alletra, Nimble, MSA), the Aruba networking heritage and StoreOnce backup. Over multi-year lifecycles, DACH typically ends up with a mix of current Gen11 servers, 6-year-old 3PAR, a productive Nimble cluster and Aruba switches from a 4-year-old refresh. Three or four separate HPE Foundation Care contracts result.

We consolidate this into one TechCare contract — servers, storage, Aruba networking, backup. OEM parts (including DDR3 RAM for Gen8/9, FBWC modules, P-series RAID controllers, Nimble NVRAM, older Aruba linecards), German-speaking engineers, SLA up to 24×7×4. On EOSL models like ProLiant Gen8/9 or older 3PAR/EVA generations, you typically save 60 to 70 percent versus HPE Foundation Care.

Compute-specific TPM topics: BMC/iLO/iDRAC firmware updates without OEM subscription, DIMM failure diagnostics (the most common server defect after PSU), and BIOS CPU microcode patches for Spectre-/Meltdown-class vulnerabilities — also post-EoSL via mirror repositories.

FAQ on HPE maintenance

Do you service HPE Aruba networking in addition to servers?
Yes, the complete Aruba portfolio: CX switches (6000 series to 8400), ProCurve and 2920/2930F/2930M/3810M/5400R generations, Mobility Controllers (7000 series) and access points (200/300/500/600). Aruba has been integrated into HPE since the 2015 acquisition — we service both from one source.
What's the difference between 3PAR, Primera, Alletra and Nimble?
Historical growth: 3PAR is the established mid/high-end platform (2010 acquisition), Primera positions as mission-critical all-flash successor, Nimble came with the 2017 acquisition (hybrid and all-flash with InfoSight). Alletra unifies all three lines under one brand since 2021. We service all four generations.
Can you service older ProLiant Gen8/Gen9 where HPE no longer offers Foundation Care renewals?
Yes, this is our core business. Gen8 (released 2012, EOSL 2019) and Gen9 (2014, EOSL 2021) are particularly affected — HPE either no longer offers extensions or quotes them at uneconomic rates. We stock DDR3 RAM, FBWC modules, P420/P440 RAID controllers, HDDs/SSDs and PSUs for exactly these generations.
What does TPM cost compared to HPE Foundation Care?
In the DACH mid-market 30 to 60 percent savings vs. Foundation Care, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. For a typical install of 50 ProLiant + 5 storage systems (mix of 3PAR, Nimble, MSA) + 30 Aruba switches, we see 35 to 55 percent total savings per year.
Do iLO, OneView, InfoSight and Aruba Central still work?
iLO remains fully usable as a hardware component. OneView runs as separate software license. Aruba Central and Nimble InfoSight (cloud analytics) require active HPE subscriptions — if you actively need predictive analytics or cloud management, keep that layer with HPE and we handle just the hardware.
We have a mix of active factory warranty, older Foundation Care and EOSL hardware — what's the best path?
We analyze the install base and propose a staged transition: current hardware under factory warranty stays with HPE — switches to us at contract expiry (post-warranty). Foundation Care contracts migrate at the next renewal. EOSL hardware transfers immediately. No double-contract phase, and over 12 to 24 months your maintenance fully migrates.
How fast do we get a quote?
Within 48 hours of receiving your inventory list with model and serial. Format doesn't matter — Excel, OneView export or InfoSight list.
