Why TPM maintenance instead of HPE Pointnext / HPE Foundation Care

HPE Foundation Care becomes expensive quickly for older ProLiant generations. From Gen8/Gen9 onwards, HPE often refuses extensions altogether — or quotes them at uneconomic rates. That is exactly where TPM becomes the only option, short of replacing perfectly working hardware.

We provide OEM original parts (including DDR3 RAM, FBWC modules, P-series RAID controllers for older generations), German-speaking onsite engineers and guaranteed SLA — at 30 to 70 percent lower cost. iLO and HPE OneView remain fully usable.

Generations timeline & TPM coverage

Per hardware generation: vendor phase (slate) and TechCare coverage window (teal) up to ~5 years post-OEM EOSL.

EOSL status of major generations

Once the vendor ends official support, renewals become unavailable or disproportionately expensive. TPM closes exactly this gap — same hardware coverage, same SLA, significantly cheaper.

Model family Released OEM support ends TPM status
ProLiant Gen8 (DL360p / DL380p) 2012 2019 Recommended
ProLiant Gen9 (DL360 / DL380) 2014 2021 Recommended
ProLiant Gen10 (DL360 / DL380) 2017 2024 Recommended
ProLiant Gen10 Plus 2020 ca. 2027 Supported
ProLiant Gen11 2023 ca. 2030 Supported

FAQ on HPE ProLiant maintenance

Which HPE ProLiant models do you service?
We service all ProLiant generations from Gen8 (DL360p, DL380p, BL460c) up to the current Gen11 — Rack (DL), Tower (ML), Blade (BL), Synergy and Apollo. Older G6/G7 models also on request if parts are available.
What does TPM cost compared to HPE Foundation Care?
In the DACH mid-market we typically see 30 to 60 percent savings vs. HPE Foundation Care, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. A DL380 Gen10 with 24×7×4 contract costs about 2,200 to 3,000 EUR/year with HPE, 900 to 1,400 EUR with TechCare.
Can you service ProLiant Gen8 or Gen9 that are already EOSL?
Yes, this is one of our core areas. Gen8 (released 2012, EOSL 2019) and Gen9 (2014, EOSL 2021) are particularly affected because HPE no longer offers Foundation Care extensions. We maintain a parts warehouse with DDR3 RAM, FBWC modules, P420/P440 RAID controllers, HDDs/SSDs and PSUs for exactly these generations.
Which SLA levels do you offer for ProLiant?
Parts Only with 4-hour shipping, 5×9 Next Business Day with onsite engineer in business hours and 24×7×4 with guaranteed 4-hour onsite response around the clock. SLA freely selectable per server — with Foundation Care often only as a package.
Do iLO, OneView and InfoSight still work?
iLO as a hardware component remains fully usable. OneView continues to work because it's a separate software license. InfoSight (cloud analytics) requires an active HPE contract — if predictive analytics matter to you, we have good workarounds.
Do we lose the warranty when switching?
No. HPE factory warranty and Foundation Care are contractual services, not part of hardware ownership. After factory warranty you are free to choose any maintenance partner.
How fast do we get a quote?
Within 48 hours of receiving your inventory list (model + serial number) you get a fixed-price quote with clear comparison to HPE Foundation Care.
Does this also apply to HPE Storage like 3PAR or Primera?
Yes. We service 3PAR StoreServ, Primera, Alletra, MSA, Nimble (HF and AF), StoreOnce and StoreEver tape libraries. Same SLA options as for servers.
