DELL & DELL EMC MAINTENANCE · MULTI-LINE TPM

Dell Maintenance — all product lines from a single source

We service the complete Dell and Dell EMC product range vendor-independently: PowerEdge servers, the full EMC storage portfolio (PowerStore, Unity, VNX, VMAX, PowerMax, Isilon, Data Domain) and PowerSwitch networking. Also after Dell ProSupport and Dell EMC Maintenance expiration. 30 to 60 percent below OEM list. Typical TPM topics at the compute layer: BMC/iLO/iDRAC firmware updates without OEM login (lockout risk after contract end), DIMM failures as the most frequent server defect, and BIOS CPU microcode patches for Spectre/Meltdown-class vulnerabilities.

Dell / Dell EMC ProSupport / ProSupport Plus vs. TechCare TPM

How does TPM compare to the OEM contract?

You save 39–51% per yearDell / Dell EMC ProSupport / ProSupport Plus vs. TechCare TPM · example calculation
ProSupport / ProSupport Plus
1.800–2.450 €/Jahr
TechCare TPM
1.100–1.200 €/Jahr
−39–51%

Example PowerEdge R750 with 4-year ProSupport Plus: EUR 1,800–2,450/year OEM, EUR 1,100–1,200/year with TechCare TPM.

  • EOSL hardware: On EOSL models (PowerEdge 12G/13G/14G, EqualLogic, Compellent SC4020) 50–70 % savings vs. Dell EMC Maintenance — Dell partly stops EOSL extensions, TPM often the only option.
  • Multi-year contract: 3-year TPM contract: additional 5–10 % discount, 5-year contract: 10–15 %. Plus fixed-price lock against OEM list-price increases.
Stays with Dell / Dell EMC
  • OpenManage Enterprise / iDRAC subscription features
  • Dell software licenses (CloudIQ, APEX, PowerStore Manager)
  • Dell software TAC and firmware lockout releases
Moves to TechCare
  • Hardware defects (memory, disk, PSU, mainboard, modules)
  • 24×7×4 on-site SLA with German-speaking field service
  • Spare-parts logistics DACH + global hub network
  • Fixed-price contract in 48 h, one inventory — one contract

Why Dell / Dell EMC maintenance via TechCare instead of Dell ProSupport / Dell EMC Maintenance

The Dell world is large: PowerEdge servers, the inherited EMC storage portfolio with dozens of product lines (PowerStore, Unity, VNX, VMAX, PowerMax, Isilon, Data Domain), plus the former Dell storage line with Compellent and EqualLogic. Across 7 years of lifecycle, DACH data centers accumulate a mix that requires two or three Dell contracts — ProSupport for servers, Dell EMC Maintenance for storage, separate for older EqualLogic.

We bundle this into one contract — whether it's PowerEdge, PowerStore or an 8-year-old VNX 5400. OEM parts, German-speaking engineers, SLA up to 24×7×4. On EOSL models like EqualLogic, Compellent or older VNX generations, you typically save 60 to 70 percent versus Dell EMC Maintenance — if Dell still offers a renewal.

Compute-specific TPM topics: BMC/iLO/iDRAC firmware updates without OEM subscription, DIMM failure diagnostics (the most common server defect after PSU), and BIOS CPU microcode patches for Spectre-/Meltdown-class vulnerabilities — also post-EoSL via mirror repositories.

FAQ on Dell / Dell EMC maintenance

Do you service Dell EMC storage in addition to Dell PowerEdge?
Yes — the full Dell EMC storage range: PowerStore, Unity (XT), VNX (entire line including older generations), VMAX, PowerMax, Isilon/PowerScale, Data Domain (all generations up to PowerProtect DD), Compellent SC, EqualLogic and PowerVault. Also ECS object storage. Servers (PowerEdge) and storage under one contract.
We have ProSupport for servers and Dell EMC Maintenance for storage — can TechCare replace both at once?
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons for switching. Instead of two separate Dell contracts you get one TechCare contract with one point of contact, one inventory list and one invoice. For a typical install of 50 PowerEdge servers plus 8 storage systems (mix of Unity, Data Domain and older VNX), we typically see 35 to 55 percent total savings.
Can you service older Dell EMC storage — VNX, VMAX, EqualLogic, Compellent?
Yes, this is one of our focus areas. VNX (all generations through VNX2), VMAX 1/2/3, EqualLogic PS series, Compellent SC4020/5020/7020/8000/9000 are all EOSL and still productive in many DACH data centers. We stock disks (Fibre Channel, SAS, SSD of all generations), storage processor modules, NVRAM and PSUs.
What about Data Domain — is that included?
Yes. Data Domain is one of the most economical TPM use cases within Dell EMC: hardware is extremely robust, EOSL comes early, OEM renewals become disproportionately expensive. We service DD3300, DD6300/6900, DD9300/9500/9900 and the current PowerProtect DD generation. DD software updates continue via Dell — hardware defects we cover.
Do iDRAC, OpenManage and EMC Unisphere still work?
iDRAC remains fully usable as a hardware component, as does OpenManage Enterprise. For storage tools — Unisphere (Unity, VNX), Solutions Enabler (VMAX/PowerMax), InsightIQ (Isilon) — it depends: tools themselves continue to work, but software subscriptions like SRM, RecoverPoint or Cloud IQ require active Dell EMC contracts.
Which Dell hardware is not suited for TPM?
Very recent PowerStore and PowerMax models where you depend on new cloud features (Cloud IQ Predictive Analytics, automatic tier offloading to S3) make more sense under active Dell EMC subscription. We give honest advice: older models (3+ years) and EOSL hardware are the sweet spots. For brand-new systems with active cloud features, stay with Dell initially.
How fast do we get a quote for the server + storage mix?
Within 48 hours of receiving your inventory list. Format doesn't matter — service tags, model + serial, Excel export from Dell APEX or OpenManage. You get a fixed-price quote per system with clear comparison to Dell ProSupport / Dell EMC Maintenance.
