DELL EQUALLOGIC MAINTENANCE · TPM AFTER DELL EMC MAINTENANCE

Dell EqualLogic Maintenance — vendor-independent service for PS series after EOSL

We service Dell EqualLogic PS arrays after Dell EMC Maintenance expiration — and especially after EOSL. EqualLogic was Dell's iSCSI mid-range solution for years and is no longer actively developed. Yet many PS4100, PS6010, PS6210 and PS6610 still run stably in DACH tier-2 storage. OEM original parts on stock, SLA up to 24×7×4. 30 to 60 percent below Dell list, up to 70 percent on EOSL models.

Which EqualLogic generations we service

Dell effectively discontinued EqualLogic in 2017 — successors are PowerStore and Unity XT. The PS series continues to run in many DACH environments as tier-2 storage, backup target or VMware datastore. Exactly the phase where TPM delivers maximum value.

Why TPM maintenance for EqualLogic instead of Dell EMC Maintenance

Dell discontinued active EqualLogic sales in 2017. Dell EMC Maintenance for older EqualLogic models often costs as much as a tier-2 refresh. TPM offers the economical alternative for 2-4 years of bridge maintenance.

We stock OEM original disks (SAS, NL-SAS, SSD), Type-7/9/10/11/12/13/14/15 controller modules, 10GbE SFP+ and power supplies for all PS generations. EqualLogic Group Manager and PS Series Firmware continue to work as part of the hardware configuration.

EOSL status of EqualLogic generations

EqualLogic models have transitioned almost entirely to EOSL. Dell EMC Maintenance is no longer renewable for many generations — TPM is often the only mid-term option.

FAQ on Dell EqualLogic maintenance

Which EqualLogic models do you service?
The complete PS series: PS4000/PS4100/PS4110, PS6000/PS6010/PS6100/PS6110/PS6210, PS6500/PS6510/PS6610, plus FS7500/FS7600/FS7610. Type-7 to Type-15 controllers, all disks and SFP+ modules.
What does TPM cost vs. Dell EMC Maintenance?
A PS6210 with 24×7×4 costs 5,500-8,000 EUR/year at Dell (if renewable), 2,500-3,800 EUR at TechCare. PS4100 or PS6010 (already EOSL) — Dell no longer renews, TPM is the only option at 1,800-2,800 EUR/year.
How long can we run EqualLogic with TPM?
Realistically 3-5 years post-EOSL, longer in very stable configurations. Disk failures are the most common event, and we stock disks even for PS4000. From year 5+ EOSL we recommend planning migration.
Are Group Manager and SAN HQ still usable?
Yes. EqualLogic Group Manager and Auto-Snapshot Manager continue to work as part of PS Series Firmware. SAN HQ telemetry to Dell is limited without active contract.
Do we still get firmware updates?
Active firmware development ended in 2018. Last official PS Series 9.x/10.x are stable. For stability post-EOSL, hardware failure and disk replacement are the primary risk factors, not firmware.
What about iSCSI multipathing to VMware/Hyper-V?
MPIO configurations (EqualLogic MEM for ESXi, MS-MPIO on Windows) continue to work. ESXi 7+ no longer supports EHCM/MEM — standard VMware MPIO works.
Can we migrate during TPM maintenance?
Yes. TPM bridges the 18-36 months needed for a proper migration to PowerStore, Unity XT or another platform. During this time the EqualLogic environment remains fully covered.
Do we lose the Dell warranty?
No. Factory warranty and Dell EMC Maintenance are contractual services.
