DELL NETWORKING MAINTENANCE · TPM AFTER DELL PROSUPPORT

Dell Networking Maintenance — vendor-independent service for PowerSwitch and Force10

We service Dell Networking switches after Dell ProSupport expiration — vendor-independent, with OEM original parts and SLA up to 24×7×4. PowerSwitch S- and Z-Series for current data center applications, older Force10 platforms (S4810, S6000, MXL blade) also in the EOSL period.

Which Dell Networking models we service

Dell Networking emerged from the Force10 acquisition in 2011 and has been rebranded as 'PowerSwitch' since 2018. Force10 devices are 10+ years old and still productive in many data centers — TPM is often the only available option.

Why TPM maintenance instead of Dell ProSupport (Networking)

Dell ProSupport for networking is solidly positioned, but on older Force10 platforms (S60, S4810, S6000, MXL blade) renewal becomes difficult — the Force10 line was rebranded as PowerSwitch after the 2011 acquisition. Force10 switches are 10-12 years old in many DACH data centers and still running under load.

We service both lines — current PowerSwitch S/Z-Series and legacy Force10 — with OEM original parts. Dell OS10 Enterprise and FTOS as operating systems continue to run. SmartFabric Director remains separately via Dell.

Generations timeline & TPM coverage

Per hardware generation: vendor phase (slate) and TechCare coverage window (teal) up to ~5 years post-OEM EOSL.

EOSL status of major generations

Once the vendor ends official support, renewals become unavailable or disproportionately expensive. TPM closes exactly this gap — same hardware coverage, same SLA, significantly cheaper.

Model family Released OEM support ends TPM status
Force10 S60 2010 2020 Recommended
Force10 S4810 2011 2021 Recommended
Force10 S6000 2013 2023 Recommended

FAQ on Dell Networking maintenance

Which Dell Networking hardware do you service?
We service PowerSwitch S-Series (S3048 to S5296 top-of-rack), PowerSwitch Z-Series (Z9100, Z9264, Z9332 spine), older Force10 S-Series, Z9000 and MXL blade switches, and Dell N-Series.
What does TPM cost compared to Dell ProSupport?
30 to 60 percent savings vs. Dell ProSupport, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. A PowerSwitch S5232 with 24×7×4 costs 1,500 to 2,200 EUR/year with Dell, 600 to 1,000 EUR with TechCare.
Can you service older Force10 S4810/S6000?
Yes. Force10 S4810 (released 2011, EOSL 2021) and S6000 (2013, EOSL 2023) are still productive in many DACH data centers.
What about Dell OS10 (Enterprise) and older FTOS?
Dell OS10 Enterprise (for PowerSwitch) and FTOS (for older Force10) are part of the hardware and continue to run. Code updates for newer OS10 versions require active Dell support.
Which SLA levels for networking?
Parts Only, 5×9 NBD, 24×7×4. For spine switches and data center top-of-rack we recommend 24×7×4.
Are Dell-branded optics available?
Yes. We stock Dell-branded optics (1G SFP, 10G SFP+, 40G QSFP+, 100G QSFP28). For defective optics we swap with identical modules.
Do we lose the warranty?
No. Factory warranty and Dell ProSupport are contractual services.
