LANCOM Maintenance — vendor-independent hardware service for routers, switches, access points and firewalls
We service LANCOM network hardware vendor-independently: routers and SD-WAN gateways of the 1800 and 1900 series, ISG central-site gateways, GS/XS switches, LW/LX access points and the Unified Firewalls — current generations as well as older fleets after the manufacturer warranty ends. Replacement unit or spare part with SLAs from Parts Only to 24×7×4, configuration restore via LCOS backup or LANCOM Management Cloud. Typical for branch networks, public authorities and retail: hundreds of identical devices across many sites, where a single failure cuts off a location — exactly what we keep cold spares for. Scope: our core business is hardware break-fix. Paid software options and firewall licences are bound to the serial number at LANCOM; transferring them to a replacement unit runs through the manufacturer and is not part of our contract.

Why LANCOM maintenance via TechCare instead of LANCOM Garantieverlängerung
LANCOM has been number two in the German market for professional LAN networking for years and is the standard in public authorities, retail and the mid-market — often with hundreds of identical routers, switches and access points across many sites. The manufacturer sells hardware support essentially as warranty extension and advance replacement; after that the operator is left alone with the fleet.
We take over the hardware layer of your entire LANCOM fleet: replacement unit or spare part with Parts Only, 5×9 NBD or 24×7×4, cold spares per site, configuration restore via LCOS backup or Management Cloud, and a ticket desk that knows your branch structure. LMC licences, firmware and security subscriptions stay with the manufacturer as before — we replace the devices, not the software.

FAQ on LANCOM maintenance
Do you also service current LANCOM generations such as 1900-series routers or LX access points?
Yes. We take devices into the contract regardless of age — current generations after the manufacturer warranty ends as well as older fleets. Model designation and serial number are all we need for onboarding.
How does replacement work for a failed LANCOM router at a branch site?
Depending on the SLA we deliver an identical or equivalent replacement unit by the next business day or within four hours from the cold-spare stock at the site. We restore the configuration from your LCOS backup or from LANCOM Management Cloud; the on-site technician or your site contact swaps the unit following our guidance.
What happens to LANCOM licences and software options when a unit is replaced?
It depends on the device. Routers, switches and access points run LCOS without a licence; for LMC-managed devices the “Replace” function in LANCOM Management Cloud transfers configuration and LMC licence to a unit of the same type. Paid software options (e.g. VPN or content-filter option), by contrast, are bound to the serial number, and Unified Firewall licences belong to the hardware too. Their transfer or reissue runs through LANCOM or your LANCOM partner. Our core business is hardware break-fix: we deliver the replacement unit, restore the configuration and support your licence request — the licence itself is not part of our contract.
Can you cover hundreds of devices across many sites in one contract?
That is exactly what the model is designed for. We take the inventory with model, serial number and site, assign the right SLA per site and keep cold spares according to site criticality. One contract, one ticket desk, one invoice — also together with Dell, HPE or Cisco hardware in the same network.
What happens with EOSL devices such as the 1781 series or LN access points?
As long as an equivalent replacement unit is available they stay under SLA. If a line can no longer be sourced we propose the successor model and migrate the configuration — you decide whether to keep running the fleet or renew it selectively.
How quickly do we get a quote?
48 hours after receipt of your inventory with model, serial number and site. For tenders with many sites we include a site traffic-light rating and cold-spare recommendation.
