LANCOM ROUTER MAINTENANCE · 1900, 1800, ISG, 1781

LANCOM Router Maintenance — replacement and SLA for 1900, 1800 series, ISG gateways and older generations

We service LANCOM routers vendor-independently: current 1900 business routers, the widely deployed 1800 series, ISG central-site gateways and EOSL generations such as the 1781 series. Replacement unit per SLA up to 24×7×4, cold spares per site, configuration restore via LCOS backup or LANCOM Management Cloud. Scope: our core business is hardware break-fix. Paid software options and firewall licences are bound to the serial number at LANCOM; transferring them to a replacement unit runs through the manufacturer and is not part of our contract.

Which LANCOM routers we service

From the branch router to the central gateway with thousands of VPN tunnels — one contract, one inventory, model and serial number are enough.

Why TPM for LANCOM routers instead of warranty extension

The manufacturer sells hardware support as a warranty extension with advance replacement — only at purchase, only for current models. For the 1781 and early 1800 generations there is no option any more, although hundreds of them run in authorities, schools and branch networks.

We cover the entire fleet: replacement unit per SLA, cold spares per site, configuration restore from LCOS backup or LMC and a ticket desk with site logic. LMC licences, firmware and VPN options stay with the manufacturer — we replace the device, not the software.

Manufacturer support status of major generations

Once the manufacturer ends hardware support for a generation there is no extension any more — yet the devices often run for years. We close that gap: replacement unit from our pool, same SLA, regardless of age.

What we deliver

Replacement unit or spare part

Identical or equivalent unit from our pool, power supplies, modules and fans — per SLA up to 24×7×4.

Cold spares per site

For critical sites we keep reserve units on location; the swap takes minutes instead of days.

Configuration restore

Restore from backup or management cloud, guidance for licence transfer to the new serial number.

One contract for all manufacturers

The same inventory covers servers, storage, network and security — one ticket desk, one invoice.

FAQ on LANCOM router maintenance

Do you also take current devices into the contract, not only old ones?
Yes. Model designation and serial number are all we need, regardless of age. We take current generations after the manufacturer warranty ends or in parallel as hardware cover.
What happens to LANCOM licences and software options when a unit is replaced?
It depends on the device. Routers, switches and access points run LCOS without a licence; for LMC-managed devices the “Replace” function in LANCOM Management Cloud transfers configuration and LMC licence to a unit of the same type. Paid software options (e.g. VPN or content-filter option), by contrast, are bound to the serial number, and Unified Firewall licences belong to the hardware too. Their transfer or reissue runs through LANCOM or your LANCOM partner. Our core business is hardware break-fix: we deliver the replacement unit, restore the configuration and support your licence request — the licence itself is not part of our contract.
How is the configuration transferred to the replacement unit?
From your LCOS configuration backup or directly from LANCOM Management Cloud. With a prepared unit, the swap at a branch site takes a few minutes; the on-site technician or your site contact swaps following our guidance.
Do VPN options, content filter and LMC licences remain valid?
Yes. These are manufacturer software services and continue unchanged; licences are transferred to the new serial number, we guide the step.
Which SLA tiers do you offer?
Parts Only, 5×9 NBD and 24×7×4 — selectable per device and site. For 4-hour commitments we keep cold spares at the site.
What if an EOSL model can no longer be sourced?
Then we deliver the equivalent successor model and migrate the configuration. You decide whether the fleet keeps running or is renewed selectively.
How quickly do we get a quote?
48 hours after receipt of your inventory with model, serial number and site.
