LANCOM ACCESS POINT MAINTENANCE · LX, LW, OW, LN, WLC

LANCOM Access Point Maintenance — replacement and SLA for LX, LW, OW and LN series and WLAN controllers

We service LANCOM Wi-Fi hardware vendor-independently: Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points of the LX series, LW mid-range, OW outdoor models, older LN and L series and WLC hardware controllers. Replacement unit per SLA, cold spares for large sites, configuration restore via LANCOM Management Cloud or the WLAN controller. Scope: our core business is hardware break-fix. Paid software options and firewall licences are bound to the serial number at LANCOM; transferring them to a replacement unit runs through the manufacturer and is not part of our contract.

Which LANCOM access points we service

One access point is cheap; a hundred access points across twenty sites are an operations topic. We keep the replacement logistics as simple as the swap itself.

Why TPM for LANCOM access points

Access points sit in branches, schools, warehouses and administrations by the hundreds — mostly managed centrally via LANCOM Management Cloud. After warranty, there is no manufacturer option any more for LN and L models; the one-off replacement costs more time than money.

We take over logistics and response time: replacement unit per SLA, cold spares at large sites, return of defective units, configuration via LMC or controller. Firmware and LMC licences stay with the manufacturer. One contract covers access points together with switches and routers.

Manufacturer support status of major generations

Once the manufacturer ends hardware support for a generation there is no extension any more — yet the devices often run for years. We close that gap: replacement unit from our pool, same SLA, regardless of age.

What we deliver

Replacement unit or spare part

Identical or equivalent unit from our pool, power supplies, modules and fans — per SLA up to 24×7×4.

Cold spares per site

For critical sites we keep reserve units on location; the swap takes minutes instead of days.

Configuration restore

Restore from backup or management cloud, guidance for licence transfer to the new serial number.

One contract for all manufacturers

The same inventory covers servers, storage, network and security — one ticket desk, one invoice.

FAQ on LANCOM access point maintenance

Do you also take current devices into the contract, not only old ones?
Yes. Model designation and serial number are all we need, regardless of age. We take current generations after the manufacturer warranty ends or in parallel as hardware cover.
What happens to LANCOM licences and software options when a unit is replaced?
It depends on the device. Routers, switches and access points run LCOS without a licence; for LMC-managed devices the “Replace” function in LANCOM Management Cloud transfers configuration and LMC licence to a unit of the same type. Paid software options (e.g. VPN or content-filter option), by contrast, are bound to the serial number, and Unified Firewall licences belong to the hardware too. Their transfer or reissue runs through LANCOM or your LANCOM partner. Our core business is hardware break-fix: we deliver the replacement unit, restore the configuration and support your licence request — the licence itself is not part of our contract.
Is a maintenance contract worthwhile for such inexpensive devices?
Per device no — per fleet yes. The contract pays for response time, logistics and cold spares for hundreds of devices across many sites, not the material value of a single access point. For small fleets we recommend Parts Only.
What about LANCOM Management Cloud?
LMC is a manufacturer software service and stays there. After replacement we add the new device with its serial number to your LMC project; the cloud rolls out the configuration.
Which SLA tiers do you offer?
Parts Only, 5×9 NBD and 24×7×4 — selectable per device and site. For 4-hour commitments we keep cold spares at the site.
How quickly do we get a quote?
48 hours after receipt of your inventory with model, serial number and site.
