JUNIPER QFX · TPM FOR DATA CENTER FABRIC

Juniper QFX Series Maintenance — vendor-independent service for data center switching

We service Juniper QFX data center switches after factory warranty and Juniper Care — vendor-independent, with OEM line cards, power supplies, fan trays and optics, SLA up to 24×7×4. Complete family: QFX5100/5110/5120/5200 (Leaf), QFX10000 (Spine), QFX5130/5220/5700 (current). 30 to 60 percent below Juniper Care, up to 70 percent on EOSL QFX5100.

Which QFX models we service

QFX platforms are data center fabric components — spine-leaf architectures with EVPN-VXLAN as standard. Three model classes: leaf/top-of-rack switches (QFX5100/5110/5120/5200), spine platforms (QFX10002/10008/10016) and the current generation (QFX5130/5220/5700) with 25G/100G/400G connectivity.

Why TPM maintenance for Juniper QFX

QFX data center fabrics are classified as tier-1 networking — a fully populated QFX10008 spine with line cards and redundant routing engines drives Juniper Care terms quickly into five to six-figure amounts per year. With spine-leaf architectures of 4-8 spine switches and 20-40 leaf switches, annual maintenance budgets add up significantly. TPM reduces this to 40-50 percent — for a platform class whose complexity is primarily software-driven (EVPN-VXLAN, IP Fabric, multi-tenancy), hardware maintenance is the economically sensible lever.

We service QFX with OEM line cards for 25/100/400G, power supplies, fan trays, routing engines and optics. We stock QFX-specific components for all generations — from QFX5100 switches (2014, EOSL) through QFX10000 spines to the current QFX5700 generation. Junos OS, EVPN-VXLAN stack, BGP-EVPN configuration and all fabric functions continue without licensing — code updates to newer Junos versions require an active Juniper contract.

FAQ on QFX-Series maintenance

Which QFX models do you service?
Complete QFX family: QFX5100-24Q/48S (Leaf, EOSL), QFX5110-32Q/48S, QFX5120-32C/48Y, QFX5200-32C (top-of-rack), QFX10002-36Q/72Q, QFX10008, QFX10016 (spine) and QFX5130/5220/5700 (current generation with 25/100/400G). Including all line cards, routing engines, power supplies and optics modules.
What does TPM cost for QFX compared to Juniper Care?
30 to 60 percent savings. A QFX10008 spine with full population and 24×7×4 costs 32,000 to 48,000 EUR/year with Juniper, 14,000 to 22,000 EUR with TechCare. QFX5120 Leaf 2,500-4,500 EUR/year Juniper Care, 1,000-2,000 EUR with TechCare. A complete spine-leaf fabric with 4 spines and 24 leafs adds up to 80,000-120,000 EUR Juniper Care, 35,000-55,000 EUR with TechCare.
Can you service EOSL QFX5100?
Yes. QFX5100 (released 2014, EOSL 2022-2023) are still productive in DACH data centers — typically in stable spine-leaf fabrics that don't necessarily need refresh. We stock switches, power supplies and optics for QFX5100, plus routing engines and line cards for mixed QFX5100/5110/5120 fleets. Junos on older QFX continues to work.
Does EVPN-VXLAN and IP Fabric continue to work without a Juniper contract?
Yes. EVPN-VXLAN stack, BGP-EVPN, IP Fabric, multi-pod architectures, layer 3 gateway functions and all spine-leaf functions are part of the QFX firmware and continue to work without licensing. Junos OS updates to newer versions require an active Juniper contract — usually uncritical with stable fabric configurations because fabric configs are rarely changed.
Which SLA levels do you recommend for QFX?
QFX10000 spines: 24×7×4 with German-speaking onsite engineer — spine outage affects the entire data center fabric. QFX5100/5110/5120/5200 as leafs: 24×7×4 or 5×9 NBD depending on redundancy concept. For multi-ToR setups with MC-LAG or ESI-LAG, a leaf failure can be tolerated — 5×9 NBD saves budget. QFX5130/5220/5700 in productive tier-1 workloads: 24×7×4 recommended.
Can we get optics for QFX?
Yes. We supply optics as certified third-party optics (Coherent, FluxLight, Champion ONE) or original Juniper optics — both options technically compatible. 1G/10G/25G/40G/100G/400G optics in SFP/SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28/QSFP-DD form factor. DAC and AOC cables as well. Third-party optics are typically 50-70 percent cheaper than original Juniper optics, technically identical.
Can we have QFX and other Juniper lines (EX, MX, SRX) in the same contract?
Yes. Multi-class contracts are our strength — QFX as data center fabric, EX as campus switching, MX as WAN edge, SRX as security gateway, plus Mist and ACX — all in one contract, one point of contact, one SLA report set. Plus all other vendors in the same construct.
How fast do we get a quote?
Within 48 hours after receipt of your inventory list with model, generation, line card / spine module count and serial number.
