Which VSP E and 5000 models we service
VSP E is Hitachi's NVMe midrange platform (released 2020) — successor to the G/F-Series platform with a completely new storage stack. VSP 5000 is the high-end NVMe platform (2019+), scale-out with up to 12 controllers. Both families are current, EOSL for Gen1 starts 2027 (E) and 2026 (5000 original).
Why TPM maintenance for VSP E and VSP 5000
VSP E and VSP 5000 are current NVMe platforms — the TPM pitch is less EOSL-driven, more economic. Hitachi Vantara Support for tier-1 NVMe storage sits at the upper market segment; especially with VSP 5000 multi-controller configurations, six-figure maintenance contracts quickly become normal. TPM reduces this to 40 to 50 percent of Hitachi level without limiting functionality.
We service both families with OEM NVMe SSDs of all sizes, controller boards and cache modules. VSP firmware (SVOS RF on E, SVOS GX on 5000) continues without licensing — Universal Replicator, TrueCopy, ShadowImage, Dynamic Provisioning stay active. Code updates to newer microcode versions require Hitachi contract, usually uncritical with stable configurations.
