Why Fujitsu maintenance via TechCare instead of Fujitsu Solution Contract / Service Pack

Fujitsu has a strong position in the German-speaking mid-market and public sector — many customers have built up PRIMERGY install bases over years, often with public sector contracts or as standard platform for SAP environments. Plus PRIMEQUEST for mission-critical workloads and ETERNUS storage as backbone. On EOSL models like RX2540 M1/M2, BX900 S2 or older ETERNUS DX generations, Fujitsu renewals are either no longer offered or cost disproportionately.

We service all PRIMERGY generations, PRIMEQUEST and ETERNUS in one contract with OEM parts, German-speaking engineers and SLA up to 24×7×4. ServerView and iRMC remain fully usable. For PRIMEQUEST we specialize in SAP HANA-certified hardware maintenance — software certification runs via Fujitsu/SAP.

Do you service ETERNUS storage and PRIMEQUEST in addition to PRIMERGY?
Yes, the complete Fujitsu data center range. PRIMERGY (RX/TX/BX/CX in M1 to M7), PRIMEQUEST (1800E2, 2400E3, 2800E3, 3400, 3800) and ETERNUS (DX series from DX60 to DX8000, AF150/250/650, JX series as JBOD, LT20/40/60/270 as tape library). Server, mission-critical and storage in one contract.
PRIMEQUEST is SAP HANA-certified — concerns with TPM?
Hardware certification (SAP HANA Tailored Datacenter Integration) remains for the hardware — the maintenance partner doesn't change the machine's certification. SAP HANA software subscription (SAP contract) and SAP hardware-config validation run via Fujitsu/SAP. Hardware defects (CPU, memory, backplane, PSUs) we cover — we have engineers with PRIMEQUEST experience.
What does TPM cost compared to Fujitsu Solution Contract?
For PRIMERGY we see 30 to 60 percent savings vs. Fujitsu Solution Contract / Service Pack, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. An RX2540 M4 with 24×7×4 contract costs 1,500 to 2,200 EUR/year with Fujitsu, 600 to 1,000 EUR with TechCare. ETERNUS and PRIMEQUEST higher absolute, similar relative.
Can you service older PRIMERGY generations — RX2540 M1/M2, BX900?
Yes, this is one of our DACH focus areas. RX2540 M1/M2 (released 2014/2016, EOSL 2022/2023), BX900 S2 (EOSL 2022) and older ETERNUS DX generations are still productive in many mid-market environments. We stock DDR4 RAM, RAID controllers, HDDs/SSDs, ETERNUS storage modules and PSUs for these generations.
Do ServerView, iRMC and ETERNUS SF still work?
iRMC remains fully usable as hardware component. ServerView Suite runs as separate software, firmware updates for iRMC and BIOS remain freely accessible via Fujitsu support portal. ETERNUS SF (storage management software) is a separate license running independently of hardware maintenance.
We're public sector / government — is TPM an option?
Yes, definitely. Many DACH public sector entities and municipal IT providers already use TPM for older PRIMERGY install bases, because Fujitsu Solution Contract renewals often exceed tendered budgets. We have experience with procurement processes (public tenders, EVB-IT contracts, DSGVO/BDSG data protection) and can document accordingly.
