VERTIV LIEBERT GXT / ITA · TPM FOR EDGE AND MID-MARKET

Vertiv Liebert GXT & ITA Maintenance — vendor-independent service for edge, mid-market and branch office UPS

We service Vertiv Liebert edge and mid-market UPS vendor-independent — complete family across five sub-classes: Liebert GXT5 (1500VA, 2000VA, 3000VA, 5000VA, 6000VA, 10000VA — current generation, on-line topology for highest power quality), Liebert GXT4 (1500-10000VA — predecessor generation, EOSL reached, still common in DACH fleets), Liebert ITA series (5-20kVA — mid-range for mid-market datacenters and server rooms), Liebert PSI (1000-3000VA — entry rack UPS) and Liebert PSP (600-1000VA — entry tower UPS). With OEM components and battery refresh service. SLA up to 24×7×4. 30 to 50 percent below Vertiv Service Plans, on GXT4 EOSL up to 60 percent. Vertiv specific: Liebert was historically an independent UPS brand (Liebert Corporation), acquired by Emerson Network Power in 2000, spun off as Vertiv in 2016 — Liebert is the UPS brand under Vertiv since. Competitive position: GXT5/GXT4 competes directly with APC Smart-UPS SRT and Eaton 9PX, ITA with APC Symmetra LX and Eaton 9PXM. We service all edge/mid-market UPS classes cross-vendor under one contract.

Which Liebert GXT and ITA models we service

Liebert has five clearly separated sub-classes in the edge/mid-market league: GXT5 as current main line for productive server rooms with on-line topology (highest power quality, frequency stability for critical workloads), GXT4 as predecessor generation (EOSL but still in DACH fleet), ITA as mid-range for mid-market datacenters (5-20kVA), PSI as entry rack UPS (standby topology for cost-conscious configurations) and PSP as entry tower UPS (smallest class). From TPM perspective we service all five classes with respective refurbishing pools and battery module standards.

Why TPM maintenance for Liebert GXT and ITA

For Liebert GXT/ITA and entry classes volume logic dominates TPM economics, analogous to APC Smart-UPS/EasyUPS and Eaton 5PX/5SC. Vertiv Service Plans for GXT5/ITA range 250-1,500 EUR/year by size and SLA tier — for DACH customers with distributed branch offices or mid-market server rooms with 20-50 UPS units it adds up to five-figure annual amounts. TPM reduces this 30-50 percent below, with transparent battery refresh pricing logic. For GXT4 EOSL fleets (still common in DACH at many mid-market customers) Vertiv support is often discontinued or available only at premium conditions — TPM offers up to 60 percent savings vs. any EOSL remaining conditions. Multi-vendor consolidation: Customers running APC Smart-UPS, Eaton 9PX and Liebert GXT/ITA parallel in fleet (typical after M&A or at large datacenter operators with historically grown multi-vendor policy) can consolidate all three vendors under one TPM contract — explicitly our strength.

We service Liebert GXT/ITA with OEM components and deep refurbishing pools. GXT5 (current generation from 2018) and ITA series completely in active pool — same component logic as current edge/mid-market classes from other UPS vendors. GXT4 (predecessor generation, pre-2018) EOSL reached — refurbishing pool structured available, focus on common swap needs (battery packs, fans, LCD displays, mainboards). PSI and PSP (entry classes) also in pool, pre-2010 models: coverage checked individually. Battery service identical to APC Smart-UPS and Eaton 9PX logic: original Liebert battery packs or certified compatible alternatives selectable (typically 30-40 percent cheaper), BattG/EU-compliant disposal. IntelliSlot Web Card (Liebert Network Management Card for SNMP monitoring, web UI, email alerts) continues license-free under TPM — all standard functions active. Vertiv™ LIFE Services (cloud monitoring) and Trellis (DCIM) are separate software subscriptions at Vertiv, independent of hardware maintenance.

FAQ on Liebert GXT and ITA maintenance

Which Liebert GXT, ITA, PSI and PSP models do you service?
Complete edge/mid-market family: Liebert GXT5 (1500VA, 2000VA, 3000VA, 5000VA, 6000VA, 10000VA — current generation), Liebert GXT4 (1500-10000VA — predecessor generation, EOSL), Liebert ITA series (5kVA, 6kVA, 8kVA, 10kVA, 16kVA, 20kVA — mid-range), Liebert PSI (1000VA, 1500VA, 2200VA, 3000VA — entry rack) and Liebert PSP (650VA, 800VA, 1000VA — entry tower). Plus older pre-2010 PSI/PSP predecessors on request. Including all battery packs (original Liebert or certified alternatives), fans, LCD displays, mainboards and IntelliSlot Web Cards for Network Management.
What does TPM cost for Liebert GXT/ITA compared to Vertiv Service Plans?
30 to 50 percent savings on hardware maintenance component. GXT5 3000VA with 24×7×4: Vertiv On-Site Service Plan typically 350-550 EUR/year, TechCare 180-280 EUR. GXT5 10000VA: 1,000-1,600 vs 500-800. Liebert ITA 10kVA: 1,500-2,500 vs 700-1,250. Liebert ITA 20kVA: 2,500-4,000 vs 1,200-2,000. PSI 2200VA: 200-350 vs 100-180. GXT4 EOSL fleets: Vertiv support often unavailable or premium-only, TechCare 250-700 EUR/year by model — up to 60 percent savings vs. any remaining conditions. For DACH customers with 30+ Liebert UPS units across multiple locations, maintenance savings plus operations simplification add to five-figure annual amounts.
How does TPM work for Liebert GXT4 EOSL fleets?
Liebert GXT4 (1500-10000VA, pre-2018) is important TPM class because Vertiv support for this generation largely discontinued. In DACH fleets GXT4 still often found at: mid-market server rooms with multi-year maintenance strategies, telecom operators (Liebert historically very strong at DACH telecom), older datacenter operators with grown Liebert landscape. Refurbishing pool for GXT4 structured available — battery packs (original Liebert or certified alternatives), fans, LCD displays, mainboards for most common swap needs well procurable. IntelliSlot cards for Network Management in pool. Economic logic: GXT4 typically cheaper in acquisition price than current GXT5, refresh pressure moderate — TPM bridge until refresh often most economic option, especially for non-critical workloads. We create lifecycle assessment per system before contract for each GXT4 fleet with refresh timing recommendation — honest, without lock-in extension where refresh strategically more sensible.
Do IntelliSlot, LIFE Services and Trellis continue without a Vertiv contract?
Yes, all. IntelliSlot Web Card (Liebert Network Management Card with SNMP monitoring, web UI, energy logging, email alerts, IP configuration) continues license-free under TPM — all standard Liebert functions active. IntelliSlot Unity Card (Liebert card variant for building automation integration with BACnet, Modbus, JSON API) similar — works license-free. Vertiv™ LIFE Services (cloud-based remote monitoring with predictive analytics and automated service tickets) is separate software subscription at Vertiv — stays there if actively used, independent of hardware maintenance. Trellis (Vertiv's DCIM platform with multi-UPS management, asset tracking and power capacity planning) similar — software subscription, separate. Liebert iCOM (cooling management) for Vertiv cooling equipment is relevant outside UPS maintenance. IntelliSlot firmware updates require active Vertiv contract but uncritical with stable edge/mid-market configurations.
Which SLA levels do you recommend for Liebert GXT, ITA, PSI and PSP?
UPS class specific logic: GXT5 5-10kVA in productive server rooms with critical workloads (tier-1 apps, databases): 24×7×4 for very critical environments, 5×9 NBD typically sufficient if bypass circuit active and alternative power source available. GXT5 1.5-3kVA in standard server rooms: 5×9 NBD per UPS is standard. Liebert ITA in mid-market datacenters (5-20kVA): 24×7×4 for tier-1 configurations, 5×9 NBD for N+1 backup setups or less critical workloads. PSI in branch offices and ROBO: Parts Only or 5×9 NBD sufficient due to lower workload criticality. PSP in small setups or workstations: Parts Only typically appropriate. GXT4 EOSL in bridge phase until refresh: 5×9 NBD sufficient, Parts Only for pure out-phase fleets. Battery refresh independent of hardware SLA and typically handled in planned windows — no 24×7 need.
Do you supply original Liebert battery packs or compatible third-party batteries?
Both — you choose per fleet or per swap. Original Liebert battery packs available in our warehouse, with full compatibility to Vertiv's battery telemetry and lifecycle tracking on IntelliSlot Web Card. Certified compatible battery packs 30-40 percent cheaper at technically equivalent specification (same voltage, capacity, form factor) — tested for compatibility with GXT5/GXT4 charging logic and IntelliSlot telemetry. Both options come with warranty (typically 1-2 years on battery packs). Important: current GXT5 models require battery authentication via IntelliSlot — for compatible third-party battery packs this authentication typically given, for very generic alternatives there can be telemetry restrictions (Battery Last Replace Date not auto-updated). We recommend original Liebert battery packs for GXT5 fleets with active Trellis or LIFE Services monitoring, certified compatible alternatives for pure GXT4/PSI/PSP configurations without active multi-UPS monitoring.
How does Liebert GXT5 differ from APC Smart-UPS SRT and Eaton 9PX in maintenance service?
From TPM perspective all three on-line edge/mid-market UPS are very similar to service — same service logic (battery refresh dominates, hardware defects rare, long lifespan 10-15 years), same component classes (battery packs, fans, LCD displays, Network Management Cards). Concrete TPM differences: (1) Form factors and rack mounting: GXT5 has Liebert-typical form factors, APC Smart-UPS SRT and Eaton 9PX slightly different — all three 19-inch rack compatible. We have refurbishing pools for all three families. (2) Network Management UI: GXT5 has Vertiv's IntelliSlot UI, APC Smart-UPS SRT has Schneider Electric's web UI, Eaton 9PX has Eaton's web UI — functionally same, visually different. (3) Battery authentication: All three vendors have battery authentication in current generations for clean telemetry — logic comparable. (4) Pricing level: Vertiv, APC and Eaton are in similar pricing range for edge/mid-market UPS, TPM savings 30-50 percent equally achievable. Multi-vendor consolidation: If you run GXT5, Smart-UPS SRT and 9PX parallel (typical with multi-vendor datacenter strategies), we service all three under one contract with identical service standard.
Can we have Liebert GXT/ITA, NXC/APM/EXM and NXL/EXL in the same contract?
Yes, natural multi-class Vertiv consolidation across all Liebert UPS classes. Multi-class Vertiv contract covers: GXT/ITA/PSI/PSP (edge/mid-market) plus NXC/APM/EXM (modular mid-range) plus NXL/EXL (large-scale high-end) plus older Hipulse/Liebert NX (EOSL) in one construct — one point of contact, unified SLA reporting, German-speaking onsite engineer with Liebert high-end competence for NXL/EXL plus standard service for GXT/ITA/NXC/APM/EXM, shared battery refresh logic across all UPS classes, multi-site consolidated asset inventory. Plus: other vendors (APC Smart-UPS/Symmetra/Galaxy/NetShelter, Eaton 9PHD/9395/9PX/9SX/5PX/ePDU, Mitsubishi UPS, Riello UPS or server/storage/network hardware Dell/HPE/NetApp/Cisco) can be consolidated in same contract — multi-vendor TPM explicitly our strength. For DACH datacenters with hierarchical Liebert UPS architecture across all classes plus multi-vendor fleet, multi-class multi-vendor TPM is the only sensible operations and cost consolidation — especially for telecom operators and KRITIS customers with historically grown Liebert landscape.
