Supermicro GPU SuperServer Maintenance — vendor-independent service for 4U/8U HGX

We service Supermicro GPU SuperServer after factory warranty and Supermicro support — vendor-independent, with OEM CPUs, RAM, NVMe SSDs, GPU modules, NVLink/NVSwitch backplanes, power supplies and InfiniBand NICs from our own warehouse, SLA up to 24×7×4. Complete GPU family: 4U PCIe GPU servers and 8U HGX platforms with NVIDIA H100/H200/B100/B200 GPUs. 30 to 60 percent below Supermicro support.

Which GPU SuperServer models we service

GPU SuperServer are the most demanding Supermicro platforms from a maintenance perspective — hardware stack includes CPU platform, GPU modules, NVLink/NVSwitch backplanes for inter-GPU communication, redundant power supplies (4-6kW per chassis), InfiniBand NICs. Two form factors: 4U PCIe GPU platforms (4-10 PCIe GPUs) and 8U HGX platforms (8 GPUs in NVLink/NVSwitch).

Why TPM maintenance for GPU SuperServer

GPU servers are the most expensive Supermicro maintenance targets — an 8U HGX platform with 8 H100/H200 GPUs costs 200,000-400,000 EUR at acquisition, Supermicro support correspondingly 8,000-15,000 EUR/year at 24×7×4. AI clusters with 8-32 HGX platforms drive maintenance budgets into five-six figures. TPM reduces this to 35-50 percent. GPU modules themselves are separate from server hardware maintenance — NVIDIA-specific warranty contracts run independently.

We service GPU SuperServer with OEM CPUs, RAM, NVMe SSDs, NVLink/NVSwitch backplanes, power supplies (4-6kW) and InfiniBand NICs from our own warehouse. NVIDIA GPU modules we are continuously expanding in the pool — A100, H100, H200 available, B100/B200 as younger generations more limited but structured available. AI cluster connectivity is part of GPU maintenance. For productive AI clusters we recommend on-site spare GPU modules.

Generations timeline & TPM coverage

Per hardware generation: vendor phase (slate) and TechCare coverage window (teal) up to ~5 years post-OEM EOSL.

EOSL status of GPU SuperServer generations

GPU SuperServer are largely current generations — no EOSL foreseeable. Factory warranty typically 1-3 years, then TPM or Supermicro support.

Model family Released OEM support ends TPM status
X11 4U GPU (V100/A100) 2018–2020 2026–2028 Supported
X12 4U/8U GPU (A100/H100) 2021–2022 2029–2030 Supported
X13 8U HGX (H100/H200) 2023+ ca. 2031+ Supported
X14 8U HGX (B100/B200) 2024+ ca. 2032+ Supported

FAQ on GPU SuperServer maintenance

Which GPU SuperServer models do you service?
Complete GPU family: 4U PCIe GPU servers (SYS-4029GP-TRT, SYS-4124GS, SYS-740GP-TNRT, A+ AS-4124GS-TNR with 4-10 PCIe GPUs) and 8U HGX platforms (SYS-821GE-TNHR, SYS-421GE-TNRT, AS-8125GS-TNHR with 8 GPUs in NVLink/NVSwitch). Including all CPUs, RAM, NVMe SSDs, GPU modules, NVLink/NVSwitch backplanes, power supplies (4-6kW) and InfiniBand NICs.
What does TPM cost for GPU SuperServer compared to Supermicro support?
30-60% savings. 4U PCIe GPU platform (8 GPUs) 24×7×4: Supermicro 4,500-7,000 EUR, TechCare 1,900-3,000 EUR. 8U HGX (8x H100): 8,000-13,000 vs 3,500-5,500. AI clusters with 8-32 HGX platforms: 5-6 figure annual savings.
Do you also cover NVIDIA GPU modules or only the server platform?
Both possible, separately considered. Server hardware (CPU, RAM, SSDs, mainboard, backplane, power supplies) is standard in every TPM contract. NVIDIA GPU modules are technically separate — can be covered as multi-vendor extension in the same TechCare contract, or run separately in NVIDIA-specific warranty/support contracts. NVIDIA offers own enterprise support contracts for GPU modules. TPM coverage for GPU modules runs through certified NVIDIA refurbishing pools.
Does NVIDIA Mission Control / Base Command / NeMo continue to work without a Supermicro contract?
Yes. NVIDIA software stack (Mission Control, Base Command Platform, NeMo Framework, Magnum IO) runs completely independent of server hardware maintenance — these software subscriptions are NVIDIA-specific and not coupled to Supermicro contracts. CUDA, NVIDIA Driver, Container Toolkit, NCCL and all GPU software layers stay functionally active under TPM.
Which SLA levels do you recommend for AI clusters?
AI clusters in productive training or inference workloads: 24×7×4 with German-speaking onsite engineer standard — multi-node training jobs are aborted at single-node outage, causing costly re-compute cycles. Large HGX clusters with 16+ platforms: we additionally recommend on-site spare GPU modules. Test/dev AI clusters: 5×9 NBD sufficient.
Can we get InfiniBand HCAs and 400G Ethernet for AI clusters?
Yes. AI cluster connectivity is core business: Mellanox/NVIDIA InfiniBand HCAs (ConnectX-6/7 in HDR/NDR with 200G/400G), 400G Ethernet NICs, Mellanox/NVIDIA InfiniBand switches (QM8700/QM9700) and matching cables. Multi-vendor contract covers Supermicro servers, Mellanox/NVIDIA HCAs and InfiniBand switches in one construct.
Are GPU SuperServer already TPM-eligible while factory warranty still runs?
Factory warranty typically 1-3 years — Supermicro hardware service covered by warranty during this time. After warranty expires, TPM is the entry point. Many DACH AI clusters from 2022/2023 builds lose factory warranty 2025/2026 — TPM is the economical move then.
Can we have GPU, Twin and standard rack in the same contract?
Yes. Multi-class contracts are our strength — GPU SuperServer, Twin/BigTwin/FatTwin, standard rack, SuperStorage and older X9/X10/X11. Plus Mellanox/NVIDIA InfiniBand, NetApp/Pure storage for AI datasets, Cisco/Arista networking — entire AI cluster stack in one construct.
