Extreme X-Series Maintenance — vendor-independent service from X440-G2 to X870
We service Extreme ExtremeSwitching X-Series switches after factory warranty and Extreme NSA — vendor-independent, with OEM power supplies, fan trays, switches and optics, SLA up to 24×7×4. Complete X family: X440-G2/X450-G2/X460-G2 (campus edge), X465/X590/X690 (aggregation), X670-G2/X870 (data center with 40/100G). 30 to 60 percent below Extreme NSA.
Which X-Series models we service
The ExtremeSwitching X-Series (formerly Summit platform) is Extreme's main product line for campus, aggregation and data center switching. Three classes with clear use case separation: X440-G2/X450-G2/X460-G2 as campus edge with 1G/10G connectivity and PoE+, X465/X590/X690 as aggregation layer with higher backplane capacity, X670-G2/X870 as data center platform with 40G and 100G for spine-leaf fabrics. All X models run on EXOS (Extreme XOS) and are managed via ExtremeCloud IQ.
Why TPM maintenance for Extreme X-Series
Extreme NSA sits in the middle market segment — larger campus deployments with 50-200 X-Series switches drive annual maintenance terms quickly into five-figure amounts. For X670-G2/X870 data center setups (40/100G with higher hardware value), NSA rates are even higher. TPM reduces this to 40-50 percent. The hardware layer of X-Series is manageable (single-ASIC boxes, standard power supplies, standard fan trays) — maintenance value comes primarily from component inventory and SLA response time.
We service X-Series with OEM power supplies, fan trays, switches and optics from our own warehouse. For X fleets, generation variety is manageable — X440-G2 and X450-G2 are the most common models in DACH campus setups, X670-G2 and X870 in mid-size data centers. EXOS (Extreme XOS) and ExtremeCloud IQ management continue without licensing — TPM only affects the hardware layer.
