ExtremeWireless Maintenance — vendor-independent service for AP3xxx, AP4xxx and AP5xxx

We service ExtremeWireless access points after factory warranty and Extreme NSA — vendor-independent, with OEM AP replacements from our own warehouse, SLA up to 24×7×4. Complete AP family: AP3000/AP4000/AP5000 series (current Wi-Fi 6/6E generation) and AP3xx/AP4xx (Wi-Fi 5/Wi-Fi 6, older generation still productive). 30 to 60 percent below Extreme NSA.

Which ExtremeWireless models we service

ExtremeWireless covers the entire Wi-Fi spectrum: current AP3000/AP4000/AP5000 series with Wi-Fi 6/6E (2.4/5/6 GHz, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, higher throughput) and older AP3xx/AP4xx generation with Wi-Fi 5/Wi-Fi 6 (still dominant in DACH legacy customers). Management runs via ExtremeCloud IQ — the cloud platform is software subscription, runs independently of hardware maintenance.

Why TPM maintenance for ExtremeWireless

Wireless maintenance scales linearly with AP count — multi-site deployments with 200-1,000+ APs drive Extreme NSA quickly into five- to six-figure amounts per year. For large campus setups (universities, hospitals, logistics sites), APs are critical infrastructure, but the hardware layer (single-box AP, simple architecture) makes TPM particularly economical. AP replacement is simple: defective AP is exchanged, ExtremeCloud IQ automatically configures the new AP after onboarding. TPM reduces maintenance terms to 40-50 percent.

We service ExtremeWireless APs with OEM AP replacements from our own warehouse. AP3000/AP4000/AP5000 series is current hardware (2022+), AP3xx/AP4xx generation is the most common in DACH legacy customers. ExtremeCloud IQ subscription runs independently of hardware maintenance — wireless management, firmware updates and cloud analytics stay active. For larger multi-site deployments we coordinate AP replacements with ExtremeCloud IQ onboarding for minimal service outage time.

Generations timeline & TPM coverage

Per hardware generation: vendor phase (slate) and TechCare coverage window (teal) up to ~5 years post-OEM EOSL.

EOSL status of ExtremeWireless generations

AP generations follow a 5-7 year lifecycle. Wi-Fi 5 APs approach EOSL, Wi-Fi 6 is current, Wi-Fi 6E (AP4000/AP5000) has the longest roadmap.

FAQ on ExtremeWireless maintenance

Which ExtremeWireless models do you service?
Complete AP family: AP3000 series (Wi-Fi 6 indoor), AP4000 series (Wi-Fi 6/6E mainstream enterprise), AP5010/AP5020 (Wi-Fi 6E high-performance), AP310/AP360 (Wi-Fi 5 edge older), AP410/AP460 (Wi-Fi 6 mainstream older). Including PoE power adapters and mounting hardware.
What does TPM cost for ExtremeWireless compared to Extreme NSA?
30 to 60 percent savings. An AP410 with 24×7×4 costs 180-280 EUR/year with Extreme, 80-130 EUR with TechCare. AP4000 correspondingly 200-320 EUR NSA, 90-150 EUR TechCare. AP5020 250-400 EUR NSA, 110-180 EUR TechCare. For multi-site deployments with 500 APs and 24×7×4: 100,000-160,000 EUR NSA, 45,000-75,000 EUR TechCare per year.
Does ExtremeCloud IQ continue to work without an NSA contract?
Yes. ExtremeCloud IQ is software subscription, independent of hardware maintenance. Wireless management, firmware updates for APs, cloud analytics, RF optimization and all cloud functions stay functionally active — as long as you keep the ExtremeCloud IQ subscription with Extreme. TPM only replaces the hardware layer (AP replacement in case of defect).
How does AP replacement work in practice?
Defective AP is reported, we deliver replacement within SLA response time (NBD or 4h onsite). On-site swap is simple: dismount old AP, mount new AP, connect PoE. ExtremeCloud IQ automatically detects the new AP and applies the existing SSID/security/QoS configuration — typically 5-15 minutes service outage. For multi-AP site deployments we coordinate replacements staggered for minimal impact.
Can you service older AP310/AP360 (Wi-Fi 5)?
Yes. AP310 and AP360 (released 2018, EOSL from 2025-2026) are still productive in DACH wireless deployments — typically in stable office and edge setups that don't necessarily need refresh to Wi-Fi 6E. We stock AP replacements for AP310/AP360. Wi-Fi 5 connectivity remains sufficient for most office workloads.
Which SLA levels do you recommend for wireless?
Standard office/campus APs: 5×9 NBD is typically economical — a single AP failure affects only a small area, coverage absorbed by neighbor APs. High-density AP sites (auditoriums, conference rooms, logistics halls): 24×7×4. Hospitals, emergency rooms, production areas with critical wireless workloads: 24×7×4 with German-speaking onsite engineer. Multi-site with mixed SLA levels is standard practice.
Can we have wireless, X-Series, VSP and ERS in the same contract?
Yes. Multi-class contracts are our strength — ExtremeWireless access points, X-Series, VSP (Avaya heritage) and ERS (Enterasys heritage) — all in one contract, one point of contact, one SLA report set. Plus all other vendors (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper Mist, etc.) in the same construct.
How fast do we get a quote?
Within 48 hours after receipt of your AP list with model, count per site and site addresses for SLA coverage planning.
