ARISTA MAINTENANCE · TPM AFTER A-CARE

Arista Networks Maintenance — vendor-independent service for 7050X, 7060X, 7280R, 7500R and 7800R

We service Arista Networks data center and cloud switches after A-Care expiration — vendor-independent, with OEM original parts (linecards, supervisor modules, optics, PSUs) and SLA up to 24×7×4. From EOSL 7050T to current 7800R3 platform. Typical TPM topics at the network layer: optic and transceiver replacements (most frequent hardware defect after PSU), linecard/module hot-swap for zero-downtime swaps, and config backup of switch/routing settings before every intervention.

Arista Networks A-Care vs. TechCare TPM

How does TPM compare to the OEM contract?

You save 35–53% per yearArista Networks A-Care vs. TechCare TPM · example calculation
A-Care
2.400–3.500 €/Jahr
TechCare TPM
1.550–1.650 €/Jahr
−35–53%

Example Arista 7050X3 switch with 4-year A-Care 24×7×4: EUR 2,400–3,500/year OEM, EUR 1,550–1,650/year with TechCare TPM.

  • EOSL hardware: On EOSL models (7050T, 7050S, 7048T, 7150 series, 7250QX) 50–70 % savings vs. A-Care — Arista EOSL cycle typically 5–7 years.
  • Multi-year contract: 3-year TPM contract: additional 5–10 % discount, 5-year contract: 10–15 %. Plus fixed-price lock against OEM list-price increases.

Why Arista Networks maintenance via TechCare instead of Arista A-Care

Arista has established itself in cloud and hyperscale data center — A-Care is priced accordingly. For 7050X 1st/2nd generation and 7280R, many install bases are in the phase where A-Care renewal is hard to justify economically. The hardware is robust and often runs 8–10 years without faults.

We service all Arista platforms with OEM parts. EOS (Extensible Operating System) continues to run on devices. CloudVision as cloud management subscription stays with Arista — customers not actively using CloudVision can redirect the entire A-Care budget to TPM.

Networking-specific TPM topics: In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) for zero-downtime swaps of linecards and supervisor/routing modules, planned optic/transceiver replacement (the most common network defect after power supply), and traffic mirroring before every hardware change for clean BGP/OSPF convergence without forensic gaps.

FAQ on Arista Networks maintenance

Which Arista switches do you service?
Leaf switches (7050X family, 7060X, 7150/7160, older 7020/7010T), spine switches (7280R, 7320X), modular spines (7500R, 7800R).
What does TPM cost compared to A-Care?
30 to 60 percent savings vs. A-Care, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. A 7060CX-32S with 24×7×4 costs 1,500 to 2,500 EUR/year with Arista, 700 to 1,200 EUR with TechCare.
What about EOS and CloudVision?
EOS on switches continues to work. EOS software updates for newer versions require active Arista contract. CloudVision as cloud management stays with Arista.
Can you service older 7050T and 7280R?
Yes. 7050T (released 2010, EOSL reached), 7050S/SX/QX (1st generation, EOSL 2020–2022) and older 7280R are still productive in many DACH data centers.
Which SLA levels?
Parts Only, 5×9 NBD, 24×7×4. For spine switches we recommend 24×7×4 due to fabric impact.
Does this apply to low-latency 7150/7160?
Yes. For financial trading low-latency applications we service the hardware layer fully. Hardware latency specification doesn't change through TPM. For these platforms we recommend 24×7×4 due to business-critical workloads.
Do we lose the warranty?
No. Factory warranty and A-Care are contractual services.
