HUAWEI FUSIONSERVER · TPM AFTER HUAWEI PREMIER SUPPORT

Huawei FusionServer Maintenance — vendor-independent service for 1288H to 8100 and RH series

We service Huawei FusionServer platforms vendor-independent — current generations 1288H V5/V6 (1U), 2288H V5/V6/V7 (2U), 5288H V5 (storage-dense), 8100 (4-socket high-end), X6000/X6800 and Pangea (multi-node), plus EOSL generation RH1288 V3, RH2288 V3 and RH5885 V3. With OEM components from our own warehouse and certified refurbishing sources, SLA up to 24×7×4 with German-speaking onsite engineer and guaranteed 4-hour response time. Huawei Premier Support is above average expensive in the European market, particularly after factory warranty expiration — TPM reduces this to 30 to 60 percent, up to 70 percent on EOSL models like the RH series.

Which FusionServer models we service

FusionServer is Huawei's data center server platform, common in the European market with telecommunications providers, larger mid-market and research data centers. Generations often coexist over long periods — V5 fleets from 2018+ frequently run alongside V6/V7 new purchases, plus still-productive RH generations from 2014–2016. We service all generations uniformly.

Why TPM maintenance for Huawei FusionServer

Huawei Premier Support is above-average expensive in the European market and increasingly less present since 2019. Huawei has reduced its service capacities in the western market following geopolitical developments — existing DACH fleets continue to be supported, but tariffs are high, regional engineer availability is more constrained, and renewal becomes difficult or is no longer available for older generations. At the same time, FusionServer fleets in the DACH telecommunications industry and larger mid-market are robust and productive — this hardware often runs stably for 8–10 years without technical refresh pressure. This exact tension makes TPM economically particularly attractive for Huawei.

We service FusionServer with OEM components from our own warehouse and certified refurbishing sources — mainboards, power supplies, memory modules, disks (SAS/SATA/SSD/NVMe), cache boards and fan modules for all current and EOSL generations. Our engineers are familiar with the Huawei iBMC architecture and FusionServer hardware layouts. iBMC remote management stays license-free active under TPM (eSight and FusionDirector as software subscriptions run independently of hardware maintenance). For EOSL generations like RH1288 V3 or RH2288 V3 that Huawei no longer renews, we are often the only available maintenance option on the market.

Generations timeline & TPM coverage

Per hardware generation: vendor phase (slate) and TechCare coverage window (teal) up to ~5 years post-OEM EOSL.

Generation status of FusionServer line

FusionServer generations follow a 7–10 year lifecycle with long parallel coexistence of V5/V6/V7. Factory warranty typically 3 years, then Huawei Premier Support or TPM. The RH series from 2014–2015 has reached EOSL and is no longer renewable from Huawei — TPM is often the only option here.

FusionServer 1288H V5 2018 ca. 2027 Supported
FusionServer 2288H V5 2018 ca. 2027 Supported

FAQ on FusionServer maintenance

Which FusionServer models do you service?
Complete FusionServer range: current generations 1288H V5/V6 (1U) and 2288H V5/V6/V7 (2U) as standard rack servers, 5288H V5 as storage-dense 4U platform and 8100 as 4-socket high-end. Multi-node platforms X6000 V5, X6800 and Pangea series for high-density compute. Plus EOSL generation: RH1288 V3, RH2288 V3 and RH5885 V3 — these predecessor models are still productive in many DACH telecommunications and mid-market data centers and are fully serviced by us.
What does TPM cost for FusionServer compared to Huawei Premier Support?
30 to 60 percent savings vs. Huawei Premier Support, up to 70 percent on EOSL models like RH series. Specific examples: 1288H V5 with 24×7×4 typically 800-1,300 EUR/year with Huawei, 350-550 EUR with TechCare. 2288H V5/V6 correspondingly 1,200-1,800 EUR Huawei, 500-800 EUR TechCare. 5288H V5 as storage-dense 4U platform 1,800-2,800 EUR Huawei, 750-1,200 EUR TechCare. 8100 4-socket server 2,500-4,000 EUR Huawei, 1,000-1,700 EUR TechCare. RH series as EOSL mostly no longer renewable from Huawei — TPM is the only option here.
Can you also service the older RH series?
Yes, this is a focus area. RH1288 V3, RH2288 V3 and RH5885 V3 (released 2014–2015, EOSL reached) are still productive in many DACH telecommunications data centers and mid-market fleets. We stock mainboards, power supplies, disks (SAS/SATA/SSD), memory modules and cache boards for these generations. The RH series is robustly built — fleets from 2014–2016 often run stably for 8–10 years without hardware refresh. TPM bridges the phase until a planned refresh cycle becomes economically reasonable due to workload requirements.
Do iBMC, eSight and FusionDirector continue to work?
Yes. Huawei iBMC (intelligent Baseboard Management Controller) is integrated on the hardware and runs license-free — remote management, power control, hardware monitoring and KVM functions remain fully available. eSight as server management suite and FusionDirector for data center orchestration are software subscriptions that run independently of hardware maintenance with Huawei — customers actively using the subscriptions keep them. BIOS and iBMC firmware updates from the Huawei portal require an active Huawei contract. For stable fleets with productive workloads firmware updates are typically uncritical — we document firmware status at contract conclusion and advise on critical security updates in quarterly review.
Which SLA levels do you recommend for FusionServer?
For productive workloads (database servers, telecommunications applications, ERP backend): 24×7×4 with German-speaking onsite engineer as standard. For test/dev environments, backup servers or clusters with active redundancy 5×9 NBD often suffices. For FusionServer 8100 as 4-socket mission-critical platform we generally recommend 24×7×4 — for single-node deployments with large ERP or database workloads availability is critical. Mixed operation within the same contract is possible: you define the SLA level per system, we consolidate in an SLA matrix.
When is the natural entry point for TPM with FusionServer?
Factory warranty expiration. Huawei factory warranty for FusionServer typically runs 3 years, then Premier Support becomes due — above-average expensive in the European market because Huawei has reduced western volume since 2019 and only limited regional service capacities are available. Specifically: 1288H V5 and 2288H V5 fleets from 2018–2020 have been out of factory warranty since 2021–2023. 1288H V6 and 2288H V6 from 2021–2022 are currently running out. V7 generation from 2023+ becomes relevant from 2026+. We recommend: inventory check 6 months before factory warranty expiration, TPM contract from day 1 after warranty end without gap.
Can we have FusionServer with OceanStor and CloudEngine in the same contract?
Yes. Multi-line contracts across all Huawei product areas are our standard configuration for DACH fleets — FusionServer compute plus OceanStor storage (Dorado, 5000 series, 18000 series) plus CloudEngine switching (CE data center, S campus) in one contract, one point of contact, one SLA report set. Plus all other vendors (HPE ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, Cisco UCS, Lenovo ThinkSystem) in the same construct. Consolidation savings just from eliminating parallel minimum spends typically 30–50 percent on top of per-system savings.
How fast do we get a quote?
Within 48 hours after receipt of your inventory list with model, configuration, factory warranty status and serial number.
