Why TPM maintenance instead of HPE Foundation Care / Pointnext
HPE storage maintenance via Pointnext and Foundation Care is above market average. For EOSL 3PAR 7000/8000 generations, HPE has effectively discontinued renewal. We are the economic alternative.
We service all platforms with OEM parts. InfoSight (cloud analytics) remains limited — cloud telemetry requires active HPE contract. Customers not using cloud features actively redirect the Foundation Care budget to TPM.
OEM vs. TechCare — where the switch pays off
The full OEM-vs-TPM matrix (spare parts, SLA tiers, language, sub-outsourcing, compliance docs, reporting) is the same for every HPE line — see the HPE battle card.
Stays with HPE Storage
- HPE OneView / iLO Advanced subscription
- HPE Aruba Central / GreenLake cloud subscriptions
- HPE software TAC and firmware login releases
Moves to TechCare
- Hardware defects (memory, disk, PSU, mainboard, modules)
- 24×7×4 on-site SLA with German-speaking field service
- Spare-parts logistics DACH + global hub network
- Fixed-price contract in 48 h, one inventory — one contract
DACH compliance by design.
BAIT/MaRisk documentation package, DORA Art. 28 contract template, ISO 27001 and GDPR-compliant media handling apply identically to every HPE line — details on the HPE battle card.
Migration path from first contact to hand-over.
Same four steps for every HPE line: inventory → fixed-price quote in 48 h → contract (BAIT/MaRisk/DORA hooks) → hand-over with spare-parts provisioning. Details on the HPE battle card.
FAQ on HPE Storage maintenance
- Which HPE Storage systems do you service?
- 3PAR StoreServ (7000, 8000, 9000, 20000), Primera, Alletra (4000/5000/6000/9000), Nimble (CS, HF, AF), MSA (1040 to 2062), StoreOnce. Older XP and EVA on request.
- What does TPM cost compared to Foundation Care?
- 30 to 60 percent savings, up to 70 percent on EOSL models. For a 3PAR 8400 with 24×7×4, TechCare is roughly 55–60% below the HPE price.
- Can you service EOSL 3PAR 7000/8000?
- Yes, a focus area. 3PAR 7200/7400/7440 (EOSL 2021) and 3PAR 8200/8400/8440 (EOSL 2023) still productive in DACH. Disks, controller nodes, cache modules and PSUs in stock.
- What about InfoSight and HPE OneView?
- InfoSight (cloud analytics) requires active HPE contract. Active users keep HPE subscription for software layer. OneView as local tool continues to work.
- Which SLA levels for storage?
- Parts Only, 5×9 NBD, 24×7×4. For storage we recommend 24×7×4. For StoreOnce backup 5×9 NBD may suffice.
- Do we lose the warranty?
- No. Factory warranty and Foundation Care are contractual.
